I was approached in lockdown to be the ‘audio guy’ for this mammoth project - a film of Ravel’s L'enfant et les sortilèges made entirely remotely. I guided all the singers involved in how to record their parts at home using whatever equipment they happened to have, assisted Myles Eastwood in recording the LPO and then was responsible for the overall audio mix - combining Myles’ orchestral recording with the disparate singers’ contributions to create a cohesive sound for the final film. It was an incredible experience that inspired me to pursue recording full-time. The film also won The South Bank Sky Arts Award 2021 for Opera and the Royal Philharmonic Society Award 2021 for Opera and Music Theatre.
